Un refugio donde el arte, el descanso y la inspiración se encuentran.

Welcome to Womb, an oasis in the heart of a vibrant Mexican neighborhood—a sanctuary where artists can dream, create, rest, and simply be. Our residency supports both the active and contemplative sides of creative life, offering space to develop projects, reflect, build community, and recharge. Through productive and restorative phases, residents are invited to bring ideas to life while making space for meditation, renewal, and reflection.

Curated dinners, workshops, neighborhood experiences, and connections with local artists and community members foster meaningful exchange. We welcome artists from diverse backgrounds, especially those engaged with activism and social change, and encourage thoughtful contributions to the local community. More than a space, Womb is an invitation to connect, rejuvenate, and discover what unfolds when art, environment, and community come together.

Live the experience

Elementos Womb Web10_edited_edited.png

Residents are invited to immerse themselves in the Womb experience for up to one month. While creating a public offering is not a requirement of the residency, artists are encouraged—and fully supported—to develop an exhibition, event, experience, or workshop for the Womb community during their stay, should they wish to do so.

As Womb is committed to maintaining a low-waste environment, we welcome artists who work thoughtfully with materials, prioritize recycled or reclaimed resources, and aim to minimize excess waste in their practice.

Joui created Womb as a space to bridge the gap between worlds: between art and ecology; spectacle and ritual; heart and mind.

For her, Womb is a way to offer a wide range of immersive experiences through art and beauty that spark the imagination of the general public to act for the conservation of our natural world.
